Let me reassure that you that you will not experience service disruptions or pricing changes with your service. Your e-mail address will remain the same. You will still get the same service or even better than what you have come to expect. However, July will be the last month that you will receive an invoice from us. Starting in August, Internet America will either automatically bill your credit card or withdraw your monthly payment from your checking account. Your August statement will note that the funds have been withdrawn by Internet America. Also, our customer support phone number has changed. If you need help, please call 1.800.Be.A.Geek. These are great folks. They will take care of you. We are as committed as ever to remaining your local Internet service provider. I will still be a part of the company. Legal Requirements for Texas Internet Service Providers
State Law (HB 1300, passed in 1997) mandates that all Texas ISPs link to blocking and filtering software sites. We do wish to point out that there is no substitute for parental supervision, although certain software packages may be helpful. We do not endorse one program over another or make guarantees that any software package will provide total protection from undesirable elements on the internet. However, a few of the more popular programs for filtering and blocking include the following: Cyber Patrol, NetNanny, and Surf Watch.
